Stars didn’t line up for us to photograph Wendy and James’ wedding last year unavailable for their wedding date last year, but that didn’t stop them from hiring us to take some photos on their first anniversary! Not only that, but they decided to get back in their wedding clothes for the occasion.

They had their first date at an apple orchard, so we planned the photo shoot at the beautiful Verger Labonte apple orchard just outside of Montreal. It really was something special. Wendy and James are head over heels in love with each other and it shows immediately. We had an absolute blast getting to know them, cracking jokes and just spending time with them made us feel like we’ve known them forever.

Wendy and James, we see how wonderful you are together and we wish for you to grow in your love every year! Thank you for choosing us for this special occasion.

We first met Sareda last year when she came here to Montreal for a super fun bridesmaids photo shoot. You can imagine how it warmed our hearts to see an email from her this year asking if we would be her wedding photographers in 2015!

Before that big day comes, Sareda and Calvin wanted us to come down to Ottawa and take them on a pre-wedding photoshoot with all these beautiful fall colors still on the trees. We took them around the beautiful area of Rockliffe where they used to come for long chats when they dated. Fall can sometimes be a tricky time to photograph because you never know how long colors will stay up but we were thrilled to see bright oranges, reds and yellows beaming from the trees around us!

We can’t wait for their wedding but in the meantime here are our favourite photographs from our time spent with Sareda and Calvin!

When Stephanie and Alex told us they wanted to have their engagement photos done at an apple orchard, we were super excited! It’s been a while since we’ve done a session at this time of year at an orchard, and quite honestly, it’s the most perfect setting for a fall photo shoot in my opinion!

We went to the Verger Labonté farm just west of Montreal to find beautiful red apples ripe for picking, a huge corn maze, a donkey and a lot of barn animals. It was perfect! Stephanie and Alex were absolutely adorable together and we barely had to do anything to guide them. Walking around the property we took advantage of everything the property had to offer, starting with the mini farm and ending off at the very impressive maze! Stephanie and Alex, after getting to finally meet you two in person, we absolutely cannot wait for your wedding next summer. We hope you enjoy these photos until we see each other again in less than a year!

Nina and Angelo are the sweetest couple we’ve recently had a chance to meet and work with. They are so innocently adorable it just makes our hearts warm looking at all the images we recently took with the at Montreal’s Atwater Market! A lot of photo sessions are taken at this popular market so Magda and I always really try to find new angles, compositions and ideas to give something fresh to our couples. This time we took photos at Nina’s uncle’s nice courtyard, some beautiful blooming trees and took them down to the little dock.

Nina and Angelo are tying the knot next year at the beautiful Mirage Golf Club and we can’t wait to experience the day with them! Until we have photos of Nina in her gown, here they are happy in love at the Atwater Market.

Zia and Yvan are two of the sweetest souls we’ve had the pleasure of meeting recently. Both being from Rwanda, they are here in Montreal to quickly tie the knot and then they are going  back to Rwanda for a traditional wedding ceremony. They contacted us for a pre-wedding photo shoot and wanted a natural setting, so we suggested this cozy wooded area here in Beaconsfield, QC, called “Angell Woods”.  It was an incredibly cold day but luckily we had pretty snow and beautiful sunshine the whole time. Not to mention the beautiful smiles that both Zia and Yvan beamed with as they enjoyed each other’s company in front of the lens!

We’re really fortunate to meet all kinds of people from all over the world and we love being a small part in their journey of love. Here are a few photos of that bright and happy day in the woods…

It’s not every day that I get an email from an old childhood friend  wanting to get some photos taken! Well, that’s exactly what happened when Stefan contacted us.

I was blown away because it’s been so long since I have seen him. When I (Bartek) immigrated here to Canada from Europe, Stefan and his awesome sister were two of my first close friends. We hung out, played Donkey Kong on the nintendo and had a blast. So seeing Stefan all handsome and grown up with his beautiful fiance Lindsay was a real pleasure.

Lindsay and Stefan both love horseback riding so they suggested we do the session up at the Pinto Valley Ranch near Ottawa. We too have a soft spot for horses and animals in general, since our almost eight year old daughter, Klementine, rides as has a real passion for it.  At Pinto, we had a lot of variety to work with, horses, the barn, animals everywhere, and all of it in a beautiful snowy setting. It was quite hilarious because as we moved around the property taking photos with Lindsay and Stefan, we were followed by an entourage of goats, cats, two dogs and chickens! It was awesome.

Lindsay and Stefan were absolute naturals to work with and we’re thrilled with the portfolio! Thank you guys for being champs and working it. Here are a handful of our favourite frames from the day…

I’m not sure what’s more exciting to us. Having a couple connect with us after falling in love with our work? Or having the mother of the bride do the same? You know, I think these two things combined make us blush beyond words!

Before their wedding up in beautiful Mont-Tremblant, Karen and John wanted to have some casual photos done in the historic Old Port of Montreal. We of course obliged! The four of us strolled through the tourist central of Montreal one evening getting to know each other while stopping to take photos along the way. Seeing a couple in love that’s paired perfectly makes us very happy and that’s exactly what we found with Karen and John.

Here are a few of our favourite frames from the evening and we will be back in a few months with photos from their wedding in Tremblant! Can’t wait.

Having not shot an engagement session in Ottawa in a while, Magda and I were really excited to make use of some new scenery. This time Becky found a the beautiful National Capital Equestrian Park in Ottawa where we enjoyed some good conversation along with taking photos in absolutely beautiful sunset light. Becky is adorable because she brought not only a change of clothing but also bikes, a little picnic and of course the pups.
