It’s quite rare that either Magda or I tear up during the exchange of vows, but when we do, it’s because it touched us. That was the case with Mai and Phil! Their story is an absolutely beautiful one of kindness, acceptance and most of all love and it truly touched us. The day was just as Mai and Phil had perfectly envisioned with everything taking place at the quaint Le Belvedere in the Laurentian hills in Wakefield. It may have rained a little bit in the afternoon, but Mai and Phil’s joy and happiness was so infectious, nothing would get in the way of their happy ending.

It looks like that time of the year has come where us wedding photographers wind down our season and get ready for our “summer”! We always look forward to shooting our final wedding of every season and getting all the work done, but I seriously couldn’t wait to post this one.

Karen and John decided they would do things differently for all their guests. Instead of having their wedding in the States where they live, they wanted a place that was unique and exciting for all their guests to fly into. After finding the renowned Mont-Tremblant here in Quebec, they immediately knew it was the perfect spot. Surrounded by a picturesque Canadian landscape, the Mont-Tremblant village, fall colours and a perfect venue, everyone that came to the wedding really got an amazing taste of Canada.

The exquisite Hotel Quintessence offered the most perfect setting for their wedding. Located right on a beautiful lake, it was the center of celebrations starting with the welcome dinner, bonfire at night, a gorgeous reception and live bands to get people dancing. All of this wouldn’t be possible without the amazing Lynn Lee from Weddings Unveiled in Ottawa. She put together some of the most beautifully natural but yet subtle details we have seen this year! Along with a team of people who came together from all over the continent to offer their talents, all we heard was “Oohs” and “Aahs” all weekend long.

Magda and I had an absolutely amazing weekend at Karen and John’s wedding. I know it’s supposed to be “work” and a “job”, but all we felt that weekend was that we were guests at the wedding, spending time with old friends and enjoying everything around us. It was the perfect ending for our 2013 wedding season and we couldn’t be more thankful to Karen and John, their wonderful families and Lynn!

Nancy and Greg had an idea. Instead of going somewhere to a field, or Old Port let’s head out north to Greg’s family’s cottage for their pre-wedding photos!

After an hour and a bit of driving through zig zagging roads, flying at high speeds (looking’ at you Greg!) we arrived at a the beautiful and homey cottage overseeing a gorgeous and calm lake. It was honestly the perfect setting to take their relaxed photos. I mean, of course the scenery was beautiful, but the fact that so much family history is baked into the place made the experience that much more special.

We laughed, we drank some wine, we took some photos and Nancy and Greg finally jumped into the lake fully clothed. It was a blast photographing this romantic session with these fabulous people and we can’t wait to do it again at their wedding. Here are our favourite images from the evening, enjoy!

With Lukasz’s family being from Poland and Justine’s from Quebec, they really wanted to give their guests a feel of this part of Canada. After looking at options for their wedding in the Laurentians they came upon the Esterel Spa & Suites resort. We have never heard of this place till now but after driving up there and spending the weekend with Justine and Lukasz it quickly became apparent why they chose it. The drive from Montreal alone was beautiful, with winding roads and hills and of course the resort itself. Placed right on a serene lake, surrounded by nature and offering luxurious comfort and food. It was perfect! Every single one of their guests absolutely loved it.

As opposed to most wedding days for us, this one was exceptionally relaxing! Even with the imminent rain everyone still had smiles and no one fretted about anything. This made for a perfect environment for Magda and I to capture some really nice moments with Justine and Lukasz. The food was to die for and the party, as we expected, was off the hook! Complete with a traditional Polish bread and salt greeting by the parents of the groom, a bottle of Wyborowa vodka on every table and our photo booth, the pictures we took tell the complete story below…

We know how difficult it is planning a long distance wedding, so on top of that we would like to thank Justine and Lukasz for taking us along for the ride! We wish them lots of love and happiness and we leave you with a summary of the day below.
