It is rare that a couple gets married and one of them haven’t met a good chunk of the other’s family. In Caroline and Derek’s case, their beautiful wedding day was not only happiness for the newlyweds tying the knot, but also witnessing a lot of their family members getting to know each other the first time! It was truly a wonderful thing seeing so many smiles, family members learning things about each other for the first time…and among it all, Caroline and Derek got married. Not just with one ceremony, but with two. Starting with the traditional, touching Vietnamese ceremony honouring their ancestors and concluding with the classic white dress and tux! The reception was held at Le Mont Blanc in Laval where the party and food was clearly enjoyed by everyone as one big, happy family!

Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Linh and Jamie on their wedding day. This was a special photoshoot, as we were only their for the portrait portion of the day, but as usual with our wonderful couples, it was a blast! It was extra special for us since Linh is the sister of one of our brides whom we photographed many many years ago, so it was a pleasure reconnecting throughout the day. The wedding took place at the wonderful Ritz Carlton here in downtown Montreal so we took the opportunity to do the photos in their courtyard, as well as along Sherbrooke Street. It was a very intimate wedding held at the St. Sulpice Hotel in the heart of the Old Port. Despite the incredible cold, and I mean incredible cold, Kim and Marc embraced each other and let the magic happen while we took pictures. I bet you wouldn’t believe it felt like -20°C looking at these photos! To help keep Kim warm, she wrapped herself in a beautiful fur wrap and when it got super cold, they had a classic Hudson’s Bay Company blanket which could honestly warm an entire village.

Kim and Marc, thank you for having us along for your special day. It was a real pleasure getting to know the both of you, your families and it was an even bigger pleasure taking beautiful photos of the two of you in love. Based on what we’ve seen and hear about you two on your wedding day, it’s clear you will be together for a long time in amazing happiness. The last time we saw Meaghen and Marco was when a thick blanket of snow covered all of Montreal! It feels like it was just yesterday that we captured them in the snow on their engagement photo session when we couldn’t wait for their wedding day to come. Meaghen was just beaming with this beautiful glow that’s hard to describe and simply best shown in photos; with Marco handsomely at her side. It was a real pleasure taking Meaghen and Marco back to the same woods that we used for their engagement photos but this time with no snow! I could try explaining how fun and touching the party at Le Crystal was later on but I’ll simply let the photos do the talking.

It was an absolutely beautiful day and an even more beautiful ceremony which both Magda and I were honoured to be a part of. Thank you for choosing us to document your special day and we wish you nothing but love and happiness together. Fadoua and Carlo knew exactly what they wanted from the very beginning. After falling in love with our work, they came over and we ironed out all the details super early on! That’s the kind of guy Carlo is. He knows what he wants and will do anything to make sure it happens…including getting his beautiful bride Fadoua! I think it’s fair to say that Carlo has a very special relationship with his favourite soccer team! But after seeing Fadoua and Carlo together on their wedding day, it was clear his love for Fadoua reached far beyond anything else in his life.

The intimate wedding ceremony was under a tent at the Fino Restaurant here in Montreal. It was a rainy day, but we didn’t let that stop us from capturing the bridal party and the newlyweds at the always beautiful Westmount Conservatory Greenhouse. After a very fun photo session with everyone, we headed over to Buffet Roma. It was a really fun night complete with the most energetic dancing MC we’ve ever seen!

Fadoua and Carlo, thank you for having us part of your special day and we hope you enjoy some of our favourite moments from your day below.

Where do I start? Perhaps I should start back at in 2012, when Magda and I were down south partying our butts off with Marie and Alex and their whole family at Steve and Stephanie’s wedding! It was an incredible week where we got to meet a whole lot of amazing people, including Marie and Alex.

Full of smiles, generosity and a lot of love, we fell in love with them and hoped that one day we would see everyone again at their wedding. And guess what? We finally DID this year!

Because Marie and Alex are so awesome and are surrounded by a million family and friends, they chose to do two weddings. One day for the closest friends and cousins and the second day for the whole family. We were there for the first beautiful and crazy day at Marché Bonsecours! The Old Port, as usual, provided for some gorgeous scenery but Marie and Alex had to work it a bit due to the blazing sun and a ton of tourists. However, as we expected, they were smiles throughout it all and it really paid off.

The party was an absolute blast! Marie and Alex were brought to tears numerous times during heart felt speeches by their best friends and surprise songs. We also haven’t seen a bride and groom dominate the dance floor so well as they did…we were highly impressed…but not surprised after getting to know them down in the Dominican!

If there is one thing we can take away from spending time with Marie and Alex, their friends and family, is a genuine love for life! Magda and I were absolutely thrilled to be a part of this day and we cannot thank them enough. I don’t have to tell you that it’s clear you have an incredible future together based on what we’ve seen so with that, we leave you with a slideshow and a few of our favourite images. A fair warning that the slideshow has a ton of images in it! We couldn’t help it ;) Thank you!

It really didn’t take long for us to fall in love with both Genevieve and Nikolas the first time we met over Skype. We meshed with them straight away and their sense of style, friendliness and knowing exactly what they wanted made our relationship with them that much more awesome.

They decided to tie the knot at the one and only Ritz Carlton here in Montreal. Newly renovated, but keeping the same charm it’s known for, it was the perfect match for Genevieve and Nikolas’ classy style. We spent a lot of time with them just wandering Sherbrooke Street looking for beautiful coves and places we haven’t yet noticed for our couples. The fact that the wedding was dedicated to only the closest family and friends meant that their day was to be very relaxed and all about them. In the words of their florist Alain Simon, “It was a small, big wedding!”. And so it was!

Beautifully and tastefully decorated with unbelievable orchids, the intimate rooms were a real pleasure for everyone involved. And later on, I have to say that some of the 200+ guest weddings we have seen don’t come close to how Genevieve and Nikolas’ guests danced the night away…

With that said, we leave you with a handful of our favourites. Also, Genevieve and Nikolas, we can’t thank you enough for having us be a part of this really special day! It’s clear you have something really beautiful between you which can only last a lifetime!

Nina and Angelo are the sweetest couple we’ve recently had a chance to meet and work with. They are so innocently adorable it just makes our hearts warm looking at all the images we recently took with the at Montreal’s Atwater Market! A lot of photo sessions are taken at this popular market so Magda and I always really try to find new angles, compositions and ideas to give something fresh to our couples. This time we took photos at Nina’s uncle’s nice courtyard, some beautiful blooming trees and took them down to the little dock.

Nina and Angelo are tying the knot next year at the beautiful Mirage Golf Club and we can’t wait to experience the day with them! Until we have photos of Nina in her gown, here they are happy in love at the Atwater Market.

It feels like we’ve known Genvieve and Vincent for years. In fact, I think we actually have known them for a long time since they found and booked us right after seeing our work from Roxane and Alexis’ wedding! Since then, Magda has been in touch with Genvieve over the phone, by email and even in person to chat about her special day and plan it all out. So when it came time to pack up on Saturday and head out to capture Genvieve and Vincent’s day, it felt as though we were photographing a friend’s wedding!

The weather outside St. Joachim’s church was absolutely gorgeous. Equally as gorgeous was the ceremony happening inside where Vincent stunned everyone by singing an opera classic to his new wife! Magda and I nearly forgot to take photos it was so beautiful and touching. After that we headed to Chateau Vaudreuil for the very happy and emotional reception. Everyone tore up the dance floor with games, dancing, sing-offs and Genvieve’s dad made a really sweet backdrop for the photobooth just for the day.

Genvieve and Vincent…thank you for choosing us to capture your wedding day. We can see how strong your bond is and wish you the best life has to offer.
