It’s quite rare that either Magda or I tear up during the exchange of vows, but when we do, it’s because it touched us. That was the case with Mai and Phil! Their story is an absolutely beautiful one of kindness, acceptance and most of all love and it truly touched us. The day was just as Mai and Phil had perfectly envisioned with everything taking place at the quaint Le Belvedere in the Laurentian hills in Wakefield. It may have rained a little bit in the afternoon, but Mai and Phil’s joy and happiness was so infectious, nothing would get in the way of their happy ending.

Marta and Greg are very sweet, loving and caring people! And the chemistry between them was an absolute joy to witness throughout the day. In addition, it was very special for us because they got married at the same Polish church, in Ottawa as we did 12 years ago! We also took photos of them in the same spot as we had ours taken, in the Experimental Farm and Dominion Arboretum!

To top it all off, we got invited to the all you can eat Polish brunch the next day and did a little day after photoshoot at The Nepean Sailing Club, but those photos will come after! All in all, it was an absolutely fantastic weekend and we’d like to thank Marta and Greg for having us there to capture their love. We know you’ll have many beautiful years of happiness together and we hope you love these photos as much as we loved taking them.

Kristy and Jackson contacted us last year after seeing our work we did of some of their friends weddings. Since then, we’ve hung out with them not only at their engagement photos in Ottawa’s Byward Market, but also at a wedding where Jackson was in the bridal party! We develop special relationships with our couples already, so when we get a chance to see them before their own wedding, it makes it even more special. That’s the case with Kristy and Jackson.

Fast forward to the summer of 2016, and we’re in at Le Belvedere in Wakefield, overlooking the Outaouais hills at their wedding. The venue is truly beautiful. With a view to die for, an outdoor ceremony area, patio and a gorgeous cottage where the couple can spend a night. Kristy and Jackson’s nature themed wedding, complete with their fluffy puppy Yoyo was really beautiful. From the tea ceremony all the way to the games at the sun kissed Le Belvedere, we couldn’t have asked for better setting. We had some pretty hot days this summer! With that said both Magda and I are so proud to work with couples who don’t let the heat get in the way of taking beautiful photos. Carmen and Minh looked absolutely stunning on their gorgeous (and hot!) wedding day.

The day was perfect. From touching tea ceremonies, to the beautiful ceremony at the Billings Estate in Ottawa, to the experimental farm for photos and finally to the always amazing Chateau Laurier. Not only was the young couple easy and fun to work with, but we also have to thank the bridal party for being so accommodating and sweet.

Carmen and Minh, thank you for bringing us on the journey with you! It was beautifully special and we can’t thank you enough. Here are a handful of our favourite moments from the day, as well as a slideshow. We wish you a wonderful life together!

Photographing weddings in Ottawa is always special for Magda and I. We spent a lot of life there and it feels like we’re back home! So when we found out that the most adorable Caitlin and Steve were getting married there, and that they wanted their photos in the same location as our own wedding photos were taken, we knew we had to be a part of this!

It was a perfect summer day, not too hot, not too cold, so everyone was happy! The ceremony was held at the very pretty St. Teresa parish and then we headed over to the Experimental Farm Arboretum which provided really pretty backdrops for our photos. It was a breeze and a pleasure photographing Caitlin and Steve, with them being so beautifully in love! Finally, the day ended and we took a few more photos around the Byward Market and then we were ready to party at Restaurant 18 right in the heart of the beautiful market. The food was to die for, the speeches touched everyone and the dancing was out of this world!

When Karl called me to tell me he got engaged, I was simply thrilled. Karl and I (Magda) go way way back all the way to Grade 9!! Each coming from different parts of the world, Karl from Australia and I from Montreal/Poland, we lived on the same street and quickly bonded as good friends.

I only met Hollis for the first time on the wedding day itself, but quickly saw her as a wonderful girl with a warm heart and a great love for Karl, and knowing Karl, I can see how she is his everything. Karl being such a warm smiley teddy bear himself, I am really happy he found someone that matches his kind heart!

The wedding was very small and very intimate. Unfortunately as life sometimes has it, Karl’s dad has fallen ill. And therefore, for Hollis and Karl nothing was more important than to have him part of the big day! So, the plan was in full swing and before anyone knew it, Hollis and Karl were exchanging rings and putting smiles on their family’s faces in the beautiful Restaurant Eighteen in Ottawa! As much as Hollis and Karl were the focus of attention that day, all eyes and ears were also on Karl’s dad. The smile Karl’s dad had from ear to ear was as heart warming as the love between the young couple.

This was one special ceremony we were honored to be a part of this year! Not only did I get chance to reconnect with my close friend from high school, but I was able to help capture one of the most important days in his life.

We wish Karl and Hollis the most wonderful life together! Thank you for having us a part of this incredible celebration and we are keeping Mr. Mendes in our thoughts and prayers.

We first met Sareda last year when she came here to Montreal for a super fun bridesmaids photo shoot. You can imagine how it warmed our hearts to see an email from her this year asking if we would be her wedding photographers in 2015!

Before that big day comes, Sareda and Calvin wanted us to come down to Ottawa and take them on a pre-wedding photoshoot with all these beautiful fall colors still on the trees. We took them around the beautiful area of Rockliffe where they used to come for long chats when they dated. Fall can sometimes be a tricky time to photograph because you never know how long colors will stay up but we were thrilled to see bright oranges, reds and yellows beaming from the trees around us!

We can’t wait for their wedding but in the meantime here are our favourite photographs from our time spent with Sareda and Calvin!

Chantal and Marc chose the beautiful Cumberland Heritage Museum for their wedding just outside Ottawa, Ontario! Having photographed there before, we were very excited to go back and explore the farm to find spots we haven’t used before. On top of that, Chantal did everything herself in terms of decor and stationary! The popcorn at the cocktail, Chantal’s handmade rustic decorations, the photo booth with a super cool backdrop fit just perfectly with the farm setting.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day at the Cumberland museum and we had a blast shooting the wedding and enjoying the party! I can tell you there was a lot of laughter (especially due to the best man, Nick!), a few happy tears and an insane amount of off the hook dancing.
