It was a very intimate wedding held at the St. Sulpice Hotel in the heart of the Old Port. Despite the incredible cold, and I mean incredible cold, Kim and Marc embraced each other and let the magic happen while we took pictures. I bet you wouldn’t believe it felt like -20°C looking at these photos! To help keep Kim warm, she wrapped herself in a beautiful fur wrap and when it got super cold, they had a classic Hudson’s Bay Company blanket which could honestly warm an entire village.

Kim and Marc, thank you for having us along for your special day. It was a real pleasure getting to know the both of you, your families and it was an even bigger pleasure taking beautiful photos of the two of you in love. Based on what we’ve seen and hear about you two on your wedding day, it’s clear you will be together for a long time in amazing happiness. We had some pretty hot days this summer! With that said both Magda and I are so proud to work with couples who don’t let the heat get in the way of taking beautiful photos. Carmen and Minh looked absolutely stunning on their gorgeous (and hot!) wedding day.

The day was perfect. From touching tea ceremonies, to the beautiful ceremony at the Billings Estate in Ottawa, to the experimental farm for photos and finally to the always amazing Chateau Laurier. Not only was the young couple easy and fun to work with, but we also have to thank the bridal party for being so accommodating and sweet.

Carmen and Minh, thank you for bringing us on the journey with you! It was beautifully special and we can’t thank you enough. Here are a handful of our favourite moments from the day, as well as a slideshow. We wish you a wonderful life together!

Nina and Angelo are a breath of fresh air, so utterly in love with each other and it shows! They were both so excited to get married, and to start their lives together as husband and wife. We were fortunate enough to spend some time with them taking photos near the Atwater Market a little while ago. It’s a real treat for us to get to know a couple before the wedding and then to see them get married and start a new chapter is a real pleasure! If you haven’t seen it, check it out here!

Le Mirage is where everything was held. It was a beautiful day at a beautiful location owned by Celine Dion out in Terrebonne QC. The staff there make everything run so smoothly, so that the guests can simply enjoy the day and the bride and groom worry about absolutely nothing but having fun. And don’t get me started about how wonderful the food and the chef is.

The last time we saw Meaghen and Marco was when a thick blanket of snow covered all of Montreal! It feels like it was just yesterday that we captured them in the snow on their engagement photo session when we couldn’t wait for their wedding day to come. Meaghen was just beaming with this beautiful glow that’s hard to describe and simply best shown in photos; with Marco handsomely at her side. It was a real pleasure taking Meaghen and Marco back to the same woods that we used for their engagement photos but this time with no snow! I could try explaining how fun and touching the party at Le Crystal was later on but I’ll simply let the photos do the talking.

It was an absolutely beautiful day and an even more beautiful ceremony which both Magda and I were honoured to be a part of. Thank you for choosing us to document your special day and we wish you nothing but love and happiness together. When Karl called me to tell me he got engaged, I was simply thrilled. Karl and I (Magda) go way way back all the way to Grade 9!! Each coming from different parts of the world, Karl from Australia and I from Montreal/Poland, we lived on the same street and quickly bonded as good friends.

I only met Hollis for the first time on the wedding day itself, but quickly saw her as a wonderful girl with a warm heart and a great love for Karl, and knowing Karl, I can see how she is his everything. Karl being such a warm smiley teddy bear himself, I am really happy he found someone that matches his kind heart!

The wedding was very small and very intimate. Unfortunately as life sometimes has it, Karl’s dad has fallen ill. And therefore, for Hollis and Karl nothing was more important than to have him part of the big day! So, the plan was in full swing and before anyone knew it, Hollis and Karl were exchanging rings and putting smiles on their family’s faces in the beautiful Restaurant Eighteen in Ottawa! As much as Hollis and Karl were the focus of attention that day, all eyes and ears were also on Karl’s dad. The smile Karl’s dad had from ear to ear was as heart warming as the love between the young couple.

This was one special ceremony we were honored to be a part of this year! Not only did I get chance to reconnect with my close friend from high school, but I was able to help capture one of the most important days in his life.

We wish Karl and Hollis the most wonderful life together! Thank you for having us a part of this incredible celebration and we are keeping Mr. Mendes in our thoughts and prayers.

We were very fortunate to have photographed wedding so many times at the Cumberland Heritage Museum this year. It’s a place that offers a big variety for photos, it’s got old buildings, fields and at this time the trees were spectacular too. Which is why we were really looking forward to Lisa and Sean’s wedding which was to take place in the super tiny but adorable steeple on the grounds!

It ended up being a beautiful day even though it drizzled a little bit. The steeple filled in with friends and family and before we knew it, Lisa was walking down the isle. It was very dark in there but we managed to make it work! We were not concerned by anything because Lisa’s smile brightened any potentially difficult photo opportunity and in turn also put a huge smile on Sean’s face. The reception was at the River Rock Inn in Rockland and it was a really awesome party. I don’t think we’ve seen so many tears of happiness from a bridal party!

Well, this winds down Bartek & Magda’s 2014 wedding season! It’s been an incredible blast working with fantastic couples and we can’t wait what 2015 will have to offer.

It’s always exciting when we hear that a couple will be getting married at a place that’s special for their family. Meghan and Steve did exactly that, and decided to get married in Magog where Meghan’s family has a beautiful waterfront property. It was the perfect place not only because of the water or the perfect forest but because they clearly felt in their element and at home! This serene nature setting was ideal for friends and family to take in the spirit of the day, relax, have fun and most of all celebrate Meghan and Steven’s wedding!

Meghan and Steven tied the knot and had the wedding reception at the beautiful Hermitage Club in Magog, Quebec.  The intimate ceremony was immediately followed by a delicious cocktail outside complete with freshly shucked oysters and other seafood. With a crowd like Meghan and Steve had, it was no wonder the night was fantastic. A teary flash mob song by the family, touching speeches and a lot of dancing finished off the perfect day!

Fadoua and Carlo knew exactly what they wanted from the very beginning. After falling in love with our work, they came over and we ironed out all the details super early on! That’s the kind of guy Carlo is. He knows what he wants and will do anything to make sure it happens…including getting his beautiful bride Fadoua! I think it’s fair to say that Carlo has a very special relationship with his favourite soccer team! But after seeing Fadoua and Carlo together on their wedding day, it was clear his love for Fadoua reached far beyond anything else in his life.

The intimate wedding ceremony was under a tent at the Fino Restaurant here in Montreal. It was a rainy day, but we didn’t let that stop us from capturing the bridal party and the newlyweds at the always beautiful Westmount Conservatory Greenhouse. After a very fun photo session with everyone, we headed over to Buffet Roma. It was a really fun night complete with the most energetic dancing MC we’ve ever seen!

Chantal and Marc chose the beautiful Cumberland Heritage Museum for their wedding just outside Ottawa, Ontario! Having photographed there before, we were very excited to go back and explore the farm to find spots we haven’t used before. On top of that, Chantal did everything herself in terms of decor and stationary! The popcorn at the cocktail, Chantal’s handmade rustic decorations, the photo booth with a super cool backdrop fit just perfectly with the farm setting.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day at the Cumberland museum and we had a blast shooting the wedding and enjoying the party! I can tell you there was a lot of laughter (especially due to the best man, Nick!), a few happy tears and an insane amount of off the hook dancing. We love shooting weddings in Ottawa since it’s practically our second home. So you can imagine how thrilled we were to be shooting yet another wedding at the Marshes Golf Club which happens to be nearly down the street from Magda’s parents place!

This summer has been a wonderful one for weddings, in terms of weather. None of these typical super humid and steamy Saturdays like last year, but instead sunny, hot, but very very nice! Larissa and Jeff’s wedding day was exactly one of these perfect days this year. Both Magda and I arrived at Larissa and Jeff’s respective getting ready places in the morning and were greeted by warm smiles and all around happy family and friends.

We had an absolute blast spending time with both Larissa and Jeff and their families! The bridal party was large but super amazing to work with and the touching speeches and ridiculous dancing made for an awesome night.
