It was a very intimate wedding held at the St. Sulpice Hotel in the heart of the Old Port. Despite the incredible cold, and I mean incredible cold, Kim and Marc embraced each other and let the magic happen while we took pictures. I bet you wouldn’t believe it felt like -20°C looking at these photos! To help keep Kim warm, she wrapped herself in a beautiful fur wrap and when it got super cold, they had a classic Hudson’s Bay Company blanket which could honestly warm an entire village.

Kim and Marc, thank you for having us along for your special day. It was a real pleasure getting to know the both of you, your families and it was an even bigger pleasure taking beautiful photos of the two of you in love. Based on what we’ve seen and hear about you two on your wedding day, it’s clear you will be together for a long time in amazing happiness. Zia and Yvan are two of the sweetest souls we’ve had the pleasure of meeting recently. Both being from Rwanda, they are here in Montreal to quickly tie the knot and then they are going  back to Rwanda for a traditional wedding ceremony. They contacted us for a pre-wedding photo shoot and wanted a natural setting, so we suggested this cozy wooded area here in Beaconsfield, QC, called “Angell Woods”.  It was an incredibly cold day but luckily we had pretty snow and beautiful sunshine the whole time. Not to mention the beautiful smiles that both Zia and Yvan beamed with as they enjoyed each other’s company in front of the lens!

We’re really fortunate to meet all kinds of people from all over the world and we love being a small part in their journey of love. Here are a few photos of that bright and happy day in the woods…

It’s not every day that I get an email from an old childhood friend  wanting to get some photos taken! Well, that’s exactly what happened when Stefan contacted us.

I was blown away because it’s been so long since I have seen him. When I (Bartek) immigrated here to Canada from Europe, Stefan and his awesome sister were two of my first close friends. We hung out, played Donkey Kong on the nintendo and had a blast. So seeing Stefan all handsome and grown up with his beautiful fiance Lindsay was a real pleasure.

Lindsay and Stefan both love horseback riding so they suggested we do the session up at the Pinto Valley Ranch near Ottawa. We too have a soft spot for horses and animals in general, since our almost eight year old daughter, Klementine, rides as has a real passion for it.  At Pinto, we had a lot of variety to work with, horses, the barn, animals everywhere, and all of it in a beautiful snowy setting. It was quite hilarious because as we moved around the property taking photos with Lindsay and Stefan, we were followed by an entourage of goats, cats, two dogs and chickens! It was awesome.

Lindsay and Stefan were absolute naturals to work with and we’re thrilled with the portfolio! Thank you guys for being champs and working it. Here are a handful of our favourite frames from the day…

I can’t believe another wedding season is officially starting! Magda and I are very excited for 2014 as we will be working with some really amazing people and can’t wait to share our experiences throughout the year. Hayley and Jake are two of those people and today we have the pleasure of sharing their wedding day with you. Our history with Hayley’s family goes back to 2010 when we photographed her sister Katrina’s wedding. Then our relationship took off when we found out we’ll also be photographers for both of Katrina’s younger sisters. Which brings us to today!

It was a very cold but also very beautiful and snowy day. I dropped Magda off at the gorgeous Mahogany Spa in Carleton Place where Hayley and the girls were getting ready and then headed over to the prestigious Royal Ottawa Golf Club to hang out with the boys. They guys were downstairs having a blast playing pool, ping pong and eating delicious snacks while the girls were getting pampered at the other end of town.

As expected, the Royal Ottawa Club was the perfect setting for an elegant and classy affair. Hayley’s dad brought everyone to tears just as he did both previous times while he walked Hayley down the aisle. After the wedding we headed outside. Yes, outside! It must have honestly been -15°C with very strong winds but we were fortunate that Hayley, Jake and the whole bridal party were adamant on getting beautiful photos. It was really really cold but because it was very important for Hayley and because they were so focused on each other, both Hayley and Jake could not care less about the temperature while we took photos. They laughed, hugged and snuggled through the blistering cold which immediately showed us how close of a couple they were.

The evening ended off with some touching words from Hayley’s  father, great food and a really fun party. It means the world to us that we were part of the Feasby family by being the photographers for all three of their girls. Every wedding was unique in it’s own way, but what struck us the most was how much love and care went into each celebration. We wish Hayley and Jake an amazing life together and we thank you again for bringing us with you on your journey that day.

We have gotten a crazy amount of snow this year in Montreal and surrounding areas so when Joanne and Karim’s day came near, we thought it would quiet down for a while. Mother nature wasn’t done with the snow and decided to bless us with crazy winds and a ton more snow on their special day! Most people would say that it must have been difficult to shoot in such conditions but nothing could be further from the truth.

Firstly, Joanne and Karim and both their families invited us in to their lives with open arms, hugs and kisses and made us feel right at home. That alone makes our day exponentially more amazing but when it came time to brave the weather, Joanne wasn’t afraid to get out there in her gorgeous strapless dress and without a complaint, enjoy spending time in Karim’s arms…both full of smiles. Magda and I had such a blast finding angles shooting through the blizzard snow and on the rooftops of the famous Place d’Armes square. It really felt like we were capturing a winter dream for Joanne and Karim.

Being in the Place d’Armes square, you may have guessed that they got married in the back of the Notre-Dame Basilica in the Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur Chapel. Both the Basilica and the Chapel are breathtaking in their own way and we always enjoy taking photos there.

We wrapped up the evening taking a few night time photos and then heading to SANTOS tapas bar for the reception just down the street. Bright red decor, chic lighting and staff in matching outfits made it a hit for all the guests. The evening was filled with delicious music, amazing drinks and even an amazing performance by Charlie from KO Entertainment on his traditional Derbake drum!

We would like to thank Joanne and Karim for trusting us to capture these memories for them and for treating us as friends from the start. We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we do and perhaps our paths will cross again one day…maybe even on the other side of the world! Being together for many many years already, having grown up kids and an already long and happy life together, they decided it was finally time to tie the knot! It really is something special to see two people with a very strong relationship want to take that extra step together.

Nathalie and Ron are two of the most sincere and genuinely caring people we have had the pleasure of meeting this year. Ron has a permanent smile on his face and Nathalie just wants to make everyone around her feel comfortable, and their love for each other and their family was incredibly touching. You could really see the bond they have for one another when they exchanged their vows and just through the little things they did throughout the day.

The always wonderful Selina put the wedding together at the stunning newly renovated Ritz-Carlton hotel here in Montreal. This being a very intimate evening soiree, the flowers, the food and the ambiance fit just right at the Ritz! It just recently re-opened after four years of renovation so if you are in the area, I highly recommend popping in to see this piece of history.

Nathalie and Ron, thank you for having us capture this very important day for you and your family. I would wish you a lifetime of happiness, but it’s already quite apparent that you already have one!
