When Cariné and Tim first met with us, we immediately knew how stunning their wedding was going to be because attention to detail and class was apparent in everything they chose and did.
Most weddings start off by a hectic morning with family and friends running around doing finishing touches to the wedding day but not this wedding! Magda and I both split up with her going to Cariné and myself going to Tim’s home in Westmount and we seriously just hung out with everyone until the big moment. Everyone was super relaxed, took their time and the most intense conversation was probably about baseball and how much Champagne to pour for grandmama! This atmosphere was definitely due to the calm nature of both their families (a big shoutout goes to Tim’s mom for being such a wonderful person to work with!) and also because the day was beautifully planned and designed by Montreal planner Maddy K, which takes a big load off the couple’s shoulders.
For the ceremony we headed over to the St. Gregory The Illuminator Armenian Cathedral where we witnessed a very intricate and beautiful celebration. I tell you these Armenians really know how to do a marriage and celebrate it with such joy and emotion that it almost hurts! It was a beautiful wedding. On top of that Tim’s parents got married in the very same church, then witnessed Tim’s baptism and now his wedding in the same place. As for Cariné’s side, her sister Sasha Djihanian sang Opera so beautifully during the signing of the register that it nearly blew our socks off! She gave both of us goose bumps that we almost forgot to take pictures!
After that everyone headed down to Montreal’s Old Port to the Montreal Science Centre for the reception. Le Belvédère serves as a really modern and beautiful location for a wedding reception because it sits at the end of one of the Quays of the Old Port. With the nearly 360 degree windows all around we got a crazy view of the port as well as terrace access which gave everyone a killer view of downtown Montreal. Let’s just say all we heard was “Ooohs!” and “AAaahs!” all night long from the guests as they enjoyed their evening. I also have to mention that DJ Serafino did a spectacular job moving the crowd, and Manny Sgourakis from Luluthia provided all the gorgeous flower arrangements for the whole day (don’t you just love the flower balls in the church?). Oh and the wedding cake that looked too pretty to eat was made by Dolci Piu!
We’re going to leave you with our favourite photos from the day as usual and be sure to view the slideshow at the end of the post. Magda and I wish Cariné and Tim many, many happy years together!!!
