You may remember My-An and Frank from a while back when we posted their adorable engagement photos. Well, today we are thrilled to share the images from their very special wedding day!
It’s not every day that we get to shoot a traditional Vietnamese wedding so Magda and I were extra excited. A tea ceremony followed by numerous wardrobe changes by My-An and a whole lotta Vietnamese food provided us with endless photographic possibilities…and full stomachs too! We absolutely loved everything about the colorful dresses, the red lips, the beautiful jewelery and of course the warm hearts that every friend and family member had during the day.
We started off with the tea ceremony where My-An and Frank paid their respects to their ancestors and got their blessings from their family members. My-An then received jewellery as per tradition, and before we knew it they were married! I have to tell you, it takes a lot of planning to let hundreds of people into your home, but somehow, they got it done. We worked with the always wonderful Cristina and Robert Cato of IOAN Films and it was a fun challenge of who can find the best spot to shoot the ceremony because once you pick a spot, friends and family gathered and we were stuck! ;)
After a change from My-An’s beautiful traditional gown and headdress we took some wedding photos at the McGill University Downtown Campus and finally settled down for the cocktail and reception at the Sofitel Hotel. After blowing us away with a rehearsed ballroom dance, it was a night to remember. So please enjoy our favourite photos from the wedding and we wish My-An and Frank the best life together they could possibly imagine. Thank you!
