Lidia + Sandro | Ottawa Engagement Photography

After lots of emailing we finally met Lidia and Sandro at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in downtown Ottawa. We immediately noticed that they’re both quite easy on the eyes and their personalities are equally as attractive! :)

Before an engagement photo session we love to just sit down and talk with our couples just to get to know them and also to get them comfortable. This time it was nearly unnecessary because we meshed so well that Magda and I felt like we were just hanging out with old friends! We talked and talked and almost forgot that we had a shoot to do, so we headed outside to catch some golden sunlight near the Ottawa parliament. Taking photos at Major’s Hill Park in is a real pleasure with light light this.

I’m fairly certain that Lidia used to model since her Vogue posing was oh so natural for her. And Sandro, being the incredibly tall guy that he is, worked it out like a pro and also looked like he does this for a living. After many laughs, a wardrobe change and lots of walking and talking we ended up with a beautiful portfolio for these two lovebirds. We are also thrilled to recently find out that they were able to secure their reception hall on a date where they are also able to have us capture the day! Enjoy the photos and we’ll see you at your wedding, we cannot wait! Ta taa for now! :)

My-An + Frank | Montreal Engagement Photographer

My-An and Frank are two of the most adorable people we have recently met. Initially they were shy and timid when we first met them, but they knew exactly what they wanted from a wedding photographer! Asking all the right questions and jotting everything down. It was almost like a little exam for Magda and I and we were thrilled to have “passed” it when they called us back saying they would like us to be there on their special day! :)

Fast forward to a few weeks ago to a quiet park on Montreal’s Nun’s Island where we met to take some pre-wedding engagement photos for the two of them. As usual with 99% of our couples, My-An and Frank felt a little intimidated by our cameras, but after about 15 minutes something magical happened. My-An came out and started giving us fierce poses and the two of them started to get really comfortable in from of the lens! Before we knew it My-An and Frank were laughing and losing themselves in each other which is exactly what we want. We weren’t there. It was just them, nature and the beautiful sunlight. We look forward to their Vietnamese ceremony in a few weeks!

The Stuempel Family – Ottawa Family Photography

Lea came to us a long time ago because she had a very special request. She, along with her husband, live in Nova Scotia, one of their sons lives in Ottawa with his two kids and the other son in Japan with his two boys. Because they rarely get together as a whole family, the have never had a photo of all their grandchildren together! Which is where we come in.

Photographing people is what we do best! I mean, we have to deal with huge groups of people on a wedding day but taking a group of eight people into a park for a photo session is something completely different. We had such a fun and relaxing time photographing the energetic and too-fast-for-the-camera kids, portraits, climbing trees, running around catching frogs and laughing constantly! The two grandsons and their dad from Japan were really cool to talk to. We chatted about customs, culture and generally anything Japan related. Perhaps one day we’ll get the chance to photograph one of their weddings in Japan? :)

It brings us so much pleasure to be able to give a family like this memories they will have forever, especially a family that doesn’t get a chance to have a reunion like this very often! Out of the 200 photos, here is a little summary of the sunny afternoon photo session. Thank you Lea, and we hope everyone like the photos…

Karen + Kristian | Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Wedding

We are back from Ottawa after shooting another fabulous wedding at Le Cordon Bleu Bistro – Signatures restaurant. We have shot a wedding there last year and just like last time, they did not fail to deliver the scrumptious food that they are known for!

Karen and Kristian had never met us in person before this day! They live in Ottawa and have searched high and low for a perfect fit photographer and finally landed on us one day. Magda and Karen chatted over the phone for so long and clicked right away. Most of the time they just talked about everything but photography which is always a sign that we were a perfect fit, and vice versa!

The day was amazing. Karen got ready for her wedding at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier and then we headed over to the well known Rockcliffe Park for a refreshing outdoor ceremony. Just as they were saying their vows, they didn’t seem to get phased by someone who drove nearby shouting “Don’t do iiiiiiiiiitt!”. After the laughing wore off, before we knew it, Karen and Kristian were husband and wife!

With so much raw emotions, cries, laughter, and in the process making some new friends, we were blessed to be a part of this day. Thank you Karen and Kristian and we hope you love your photos as much as we enjoyed taking them. Have a beautiful life together…
