Ashley + Ben | Loft Hotel Montreal Wedding

Where do I start? Back in November of 2010 we set up a booth for the Elegant Wedding Showcase. It was a fabulous show with many amazing vendors who catered to the distinguished bride. Literally as soon as the doors opened, the first couple that approached us was Ashley and Ben! They researched us and our work beforehand, found out that we’ll be at the show, and came by primarily to meet with us in person…we were so flattered and we fell in love with them right away :)

Fast forward to this year are we are already shooting their wedding. The day was incredible and it could not have gone any other way with Azar Jazestani from Principal Planner designing and planning it all! From choosing the boutique Loft Hotel in Montreal for the reception, to the fuchsia colors, to the sleight of hand MC/magician Spidey, and to the McDonald’s cheeseburger/ chicken burger + fries midnight buffet (yes, you read that right…people swarmed the stuff like a flock of vultures!). Azar truly made the day look and feel spectacular! To see Azar working so hard throughout the day and putting so much care into creating what the couple dreamed of, we see how important it is to have a quality planner so you can just enjoy your day rather than worry about the details of the day. Oh, and if you’re wondering who made that killer canopy for the ceremony, it was from The Canopy Company!

It gives us so much pleasure in our job to meet and work with people like Ashley and Ben, who are super easy going, relaxed and provide everyone a great atmosphere to work in. Magda and I felt right at home hanging out with them and covering their special day and wish them an amazing life together. We cannot wait for dinner with you guys! We honestly could not have asked for a better couple to work for :)

Here are a handful of our favourite photos from the day, and be sure to scroll down to the bottom to view the slideshow. Since launching our own photobooth, Ashley and Ben really wanted one for their wedding so we brought it along! Be sure to check out the second photobooth slideshow right below the wedding one. Enjoy…

Shawna + Mark | Ottawa wedding at Saunder’s Farm

Today we have a real nice treat for you! A few weekends ago we shot a very special wedding at an original location called Saunder’s Farm. Saunder’s Farm is very well known in the Ottawa region (especially Kanata/Stittsville) for having spectacular haunted houses for Halloween, awesome hayrides and most importantly mazes…yes, mazes! Real honest to goodness hedges carved out just like in fairytales. When Magda and I found out that Shawna and Mark were going to have their reception there we got super happy because we didn’t even know they hosted weddings!

It was extra special for us because we were among lots of friends at this wedding. Nimi + Grant were there, the Huges family was there, Kate, Nick and Rian too and Magda’s best friend Aleks with her husband Robin were also there to party with us! It looks like we’re the official photographers of this entire extended family! ;)

Because the ceremony and reception was held on site we had a very relaxed and enjoyable photosession, while walking around and exploring. It was almost overwhelming and we loved it! Old barn wood details, fields and mazes offered really interesting photos.

The day was unbelievably hot and muggy but that didn’t stop everyone from having an insane amount of fun. Everyone loved the rustic and country feel of the wedding so I guess the heat and mosquitoes were quite fitting (you can even spot them flying around people during the night shots during dancing!). Oh and Shawna and Mark started off their first dance as usual but then broke out into the Evolution of Dance routine! If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth it. And to top it off, Shawna is a music teacher and a few of her students sang, and played instruments during the ceremony and later too…and they were in-cre-di-ble. Their rendition of Adele’s Make you feel my Love was flawless (we used it for the slideshow below!).

Magda and I were honored to be a part of Shauna and Mark’s celebration and we wish them many happy years together. And as usual, we leave you with a few of our favourite images of the day along with a slideshow at the bottom. Thank you for visting our site!

Iliana + Filipe | Toronto Wedding

Wow has it really been that long? Last time I checked we took Iliana and Filipe out for an engagement photoshoot in June of last year! And today we are privileged to post the photos from their wedding.

For their engagement shoot, Iliana and Filipe came up to Montreal but for their wedding it was our turn to drive down to Toronto. Whenever we get to do a wedding out of town, Magda and I love it because it feels like a mini getaway for us. We are still working of course but it’s out of our element and we don’t necessarily have to worry about day to day stuff we usually deal with at home, so we enjoy our time away. Add to that some wonderful people like Iliana and Filipe and their friends and families (which includes the always smiling Eve and Mo whom we also photographed a while ago!) and we have a recipe for awesome!

Once again the day was threatening to rain on us but thankfully it cleared up! So we got a chance to shoot at the Charles F. Watson and Family gardens in Brampton and then head over to the Red Rose Convention Centre for the wedding reception.

Iliana and Filipe are one of the most sweetest and innocent couples we have met and we had an incredible blast partying with their family! We wish you the best that married life has to offer and we leave you with some of our favourite photos from the day…

Marina + Konrad | Montreal Engagement Session

I have known Konrad for a long time. Believe it or not he and I met at ESL class many years ago in elementary school when we both still had trouble with the English language! So naturally Magda and I got really excited when Konrad came to us announcing he had found the girl of his dreams and that they would like us to be the photographers for their wedding!

So here we are doing their pre-wedding photos and Marina and Konrad are really adorable because they came up with a little picnic type theme for their engagement photos. After finding some gorgeous sunlight on the picnic field we did a little wardrobe change and hit the old port to spice up the scenery.

Here are our favourite shots from the evening and we can’t wait to shoot their wedding in a few months :)

Saunders Farm Wedding – Sneak Peek | Cinemagraph

This weekend was absolutely amazing. First, we had the pleasure of shooting a fantabulous rustic wedding at Saunder’s Farm in Ottawa, yesterday we celebrated our 7th anniversary (love you babe!) and today Magda is celebrating her birthday! Crazy fun weekend.

We are writing to you all from Ottawa and wanted to share this post with you today…a sneak peek from Shawna and Mark’s wedding! We first discovered this technique on photographer Jamie Beck (From Me to You Blog) and Kevin Burg’s (Cinemagraphs.com) tumblr blogs and we just had to incorporate this into our weddings. They call this moving picture a “cinemagraph” and both Magda and I fell in love with the fascinating mix of a static image with a little bit of mysterious movement. We hope you like it! So exciting :) (best viewed in Google Chrome or Firefox…sorry Internet Explorer people!)

George Karaminas - I never though I’d see the return of animated GIFs on the modern web, but there may actually be a good use for them! ;-)July 5, 2011 – 5:44 pm
