Marie + Alex | a wedding at Marché Bonsecours

Where do I start? Perhaps I should start back at in 2012, when Magda and I were down south partying our butts off with Marie and Alex and their whole family at Steve and Stephanie’s wedding! It was an incredible week where we got to meet a whole lot of amazing people, including Marie and Alex.

Full of smiles, generosity and a lot of love, we fell in love with them and hoped that one day we would see everyone again at their wedding. And guess what? We finally DID this year!

Because Marie and Alex are so awesome and are surrounded by a million family and friends, they chose to do two weddings. One day for the closest friends and cousins and the second day for the whole family. We were there for the first beautiful and crazy day at Marché Bonsecours! The Old Port, as usual, provided for some gorgeous scenery but Marie and Alex had to work it a bit due to the blazing sun and a ton of tourists. However, as we expected, they were smiles throughout it all and it really paid off.

The party was an absolute blast! Marie and Alex were brought to tears numerous times during heart felt speeches by their best friends and surprise songs. We also haven’t seen a bride and groom dominate the dance floor so well as they did…we were highly impressed…but not surprised after getting to know them down in the Dominican!

If there is one thing we can take away from spending time with Marie and Alex, their friends and family, is a genuine love for life! Magda and I were absolutely thrilled to be a part of this day and we cannot thank them enough. I don’t have to tell you that it’s clear you have an incredible future together based on what we’ve seen so with that, we leave you with a slideshow and a few of our favourite images. Larissa + Jeff | A wedding at the marshes golf club in Ottawa

We love shooting weddings in Ottawa since it’s practically our second home. So you can imagine how thrilled we were to be shooting yet another wedding at the Marshes Golf Club which happens to be nearly down the street from Magda’s parents place!

This summer has been a wonderful one for weddings, in terms of weather. None of these typical super humid and steamy Saturdays like last year, but instead sunny, hot, but very very nice! Larissa and Jeff’s wedding day was exactly one of these perfect days this year. Both Magda and I arrived at Larissa and Jeff’s respective getting ready places in the morning and were greeted by warm smiles and all around happy family and friends.

We had an absolute blast spending time with both Larissa and Jeff and their families! The bridal party was large but super amazing to work with and the touching speeches and ridiculous dancing made for an awesome night.

Annick + Esaïe – A wedding in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu

It was an incredibly hot and steamy summer day, and we were off to a little quaint town of Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu just North-East of Montreal! Immediately we were taken by the beautiful old little towns along the river and thought how unique that Annick and Esaïe chose to show their guests this part of Quebec.

We arrived at Château Saint-Antoine where the wedding reception was going to take place and were greeted with warm hugs by Annick and Esaïe’s amazing families! The ceremony at Église de Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue was especially beautiful because it was led by Esaïe’s father who also played guitar along with his brother and other family members. Hearing the whole family get involved in singing so beautifully was really touching! We headed out for a dove release and then some photos right after. Like I said at the start, it was brutally hot that day and we were both very impressed with Annick, Esaïe and all the guests for how they brushed it off and had an absolute blast. Which brings me to the emotion filled dinner and then the amazing dancing!

Annick and Esaïe’s families just have it in them when it comes to dancing and having a good time. We got goosebumps when everyone started dancing in unison to a beautiful beat with arms high in the air. We were told that this is a traditional Rwandan dance paying homage to cattle and the arms in the air symbolize their beautiful horns! We were in awe at the gorgeous moves and smiles everyone had and wished we could join in.
